ONE ROAD GAME AHEAD
The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team is back in action with one away game this week. The Owls stayed undefeated in conference play as it went 2-0 last week with wins against No. 14 SNHU and a comeback victory against Assumption. The Owls go on the road to face Saint Michael's Wednesday for a 3 p.m. start.

WINNING WAYS
With the Owls upset against No. 14 SNHU and comeback victory against Assumption men's soccer stay unbeaten in its last six games. During this run they have scored eight goals while only allowing three in.
 
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Several key players for the Owls are Louis Greenway-Tambini that has seven goals and four assists on the year, goalie Noah Varonier who has recorded 33 saves on the year and four shutouts along with Sophomore Devante Texiera (Boston, Mass.) who is second on the team in points so far this year.
 
GREENWAY-TAMBINI STAYS HOT
The senior added two goals  and an assist last week to put him at seven goals on the year. He leads his team in all statistical categories with an average of two points a game and is on track to have the best statistical season of his collegiate career.

CEREROLS SCORES FIRST CAREER GOAL
Freshman Ignasi Cererols recorded the first collegiate goal of his career against UNH off a penalty kick to help the Owls win the game.

GREENWAY-TAMBINI EARNS NE10 WEEKLY HONOR ROLL
Louis Greenway-Tambini was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll after recording two goals and three assists against Bridgeport and LIU Post. 
 
OWLS START OFF ON A HIGH
With the Owls' win against Mercy, they improved to 34-9-2 all-time in season openers. Senior Louis Greenway Tambini had the game-winning goal that was assisted by Ignacio Navarro to give the Owls the first win of the 2017 campaign.

CAPTAINS EARN WEEKLY HONORS
Noah Varonier was awarded Goalie of the Week honors for his play in the Owls' home opener against Mercy. He recorded four saves in the win for his first shutout of the 2017 campaign. Louis Greenway-Tambini, meanwhile was named to the weekly honor roll after he scored the game-winning goal for the Owls in the 1-0 victory over Mercy. 
 
THE CAPTAINS
Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer coach Tom Lang has announced that senior Louis Greenway Tambini and senior Noah Varonier will serve as the team captains for the 2017 season.
                     
RETURNING OWLS
The Owls have 14 returning players from the 2016 campaign. In addition, the Owls returning field players accounted for 51 percent of the goals from last year, including six tallies from All-Conference pick Louis Greenway Tambini.

VARONIER KEY TO OWLS DEFENSE
Senior Noah Varonier started all 17 games for the Owls in his junior year. He posted a 1.44 GAA last season and is a three-year starter for the Owls.

PETKE NAMED REAL SALT LAKE HEAD COACH
Former Southern Connecticut State University All-American and 2017 SCSU Hall of Fame inductee Mike Petke was named head coach for Real Salt Lake of Major League Soccer.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome nine newcomers to the 2017 squad: Noah Rattet, Sean Lyons, Sebastian Jarlenas, Kyle Falvey, Kevin Van Der Pol, Nicolas Colodrero, Jhony Gonzalez, Ignasi Cererols and Lukas Szymecki. 

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR
The Owls finished last season at 7-8-2 record and earned a spot in the NE10 Tournament.
