Sabri Akter (Unionville, Conn.) netted the game-winning goal in the 66th minute as the No. 23 nationally ranked Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team rallied to defeat No. 9 nationally ranked Merrimack, 2-1.

FIRST HALF
The Warriors scored the first goal of the game in the 12th minute of the game to give them a 1-0 lead over the Owls.
SECOND HALF
The Owls netted the equalizer in the 49
th minute of the game off the foot of freshman Lucas Szymecki (Wethersfeld, Conn.). The assist came from senior Louis Greenway-Tambini (Nottingham, England). Szymecki shot the ball from outside the six yard box past the goalkeeper.
The match would remain tied until the 65
th minute when Akter scored on a give and go pass from sophomore
James Foster (Niantic, Conn.), past the goalkeeper to the far post to give the Owls the 2-1 lead.
That would prove to be the game-winning goal as the Owls would hold of the Warriors' late push, one that forced senior
Noah Varonier (Miller Place, N.Y.) to make two late saves to seal the Owls' victory. Varonier recorded seven saves in the game to help push the Owls past No. 9 Merrimack
