NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team competed against Iona today in its 2017-18 season opener.

NOTABLE FINISHES:
The quartet of Tyler Prescott (Meriden,Conn.), Brandon Beaudoin (Scotia, N.Y.), Leonardo LaPorte (Washingtonville, N.Y.) and Tyler Vander Vos (South Windsor, Conn.) claimed first with a time of 1:39.47.

- Prescott recorded a first place finish in the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:03.09 and a second place finish in the 100 back with a time of 54.35.

- Vander Vos claimed first in the 50 free with a time of 22.08. He also recorded a pair of second place finishes in the 500 free (4:53.93) and 100 free (47.65).

- Laporte had two second place finishes in to 100 butterfly with a time of 52:89 and in the 200 butterfly with a time of 1:59.89.
