Alexandria Jurgens (Cornwall, N.Y.) each recorded double-doubles, but the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision to Caldwell tonight.

LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS
- Jadus registered a team-high 17 kills and added 16 digs for her 17th double-double of the year. Jurgens posted 20 assists, 13 digs and also contributed five kills in her 12th double-double of the season.

Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) recorded 15 kills, the only other Owl with double-digit kills.

Alexandra Nimz (Littleton, Colo.) led the Owls with 28 assists.

Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) had a game-high 25 digs, while
Anna Venard (Thornton, Colo.) finished with 17 digs for Southern.

Jourdan Hodge (Barton Mills, United Kingdom) posted a team-high five blocks for the Owls.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Owls led 4-2, early in the opening game, before Caldwell went on a 7-1 run to take the lead for good. The Cougars extended their lead to as many as 10 before settling for the five-point win.
- Game two was all Southern Connecticut. The hosts scored seven of the first eight points and were never really threatened in evening up the match.
- Caldwell snapped a 5-5 tie in game three with four straight points and did not trail again in the set.
- The final game was the most tightly contested of the evening. The Owls rallied from a 24-22 deficit late to tie it, only to have Caldwell score the final two points to secure the win.
