GARDEN CITY, N.Y. – Despite a career-high 21 kills from junior
Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.), the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team lost a 3-1 decision at Adelphi in NE10 action this evening.

LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS:
- Gage posted a whopping .488 hitting percentage and had just one attack error on the evening. Her 41 attempts were also a single-game high.

Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) posted her 15th double-double of the season with 11 kills and 14 digs.

Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) recorded her 18th double-double of the year with 11 kills and 15 digs.

Alexandria Jurgens (Cornwall, N.Y.) had a career-high 43 assists in the contest.
- Five Owls finished with double-digit dig totals.
Jillian Chambers (Shelby Township, Mich.) contributed 13.
Anna Venard (Thornton, Colo.) registered a dozen and
Jennifer Dawson (Clinton, Conn.) finished with 10.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- All four games were tightly contested. In game one, the 12th and final tie came at 22-22. However, the host Panthers scored the final three points to take the win.
- Game two featured 16 instances where the teams were deadlocked. Adelphi had three game point opportunities, the final being at 26-25. However, two kills by Vazquez were sandwiched around an Adelphi attack error, and the Owls came away with the two-point win.
- There were only six ties in game three. The Owls closed to within 21-20 late in the frame, only to have Adelphi score four of the final five points to take the win.
- Adelphi led for most of game four, but the Owls hung within striking distance and tied it at 23-23. The Panthers then scored the next two points for the win.
