NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Former Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer standouts Sherwin Mullin and Bo Oshoniyi are among the individuals that have been selected for induction into the Connecticut Soccer Hall of Fame's Class of 2018. The duo will be formally recognized and inducted an at event on Jan. 27 at the Radisson in Cromwell.
Mullin, a two-time First-Team All-American in 1994 and 1995, ranks sixth all-time at SCSU in goals (45), seventh in points (117) and eighth in assists (27). At the conclusion of his collegiate career, Mullin was fourth in program history in points and ranked fifth in both goals and assists. He was a part of two NCAA Championship squads in 1992 and 1995 and also played in the Senior Bowl after the 1995 campaign.
Oshoniyi led Southern to NCAA titles in 1990 and 1992 and capped off his four-year career (1990-93) as the recipient of the Golden Boot Award as the nation's outstanding collegiate goalkeeper. He was the first Division II player in history to earn the award. Oshoniyi tied a national collegiate record with 50 shutouts in his four seasons and a goals against average of just 0.47. He was a two-time NSCAA First-Team Division II All-America selection and a two-time New England Collegiate Conference Player of the Year.
