WEST HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team lost to the University of New Haven this evening in NE10 action, 79-68.

Austin Carter (Bloomfield, Conn.) tallied a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds for the Owls. Classmate Michael Mallory (Waterbury, Conn.) added 18 points for the Owls. Dominic Migliaro (Monroe, Conn.) also contributed a career-high nine points off the bench in just 16 minutes.

MAKING A SURGE: The Owls trailed 59-46 early in the second half before going on a 15-3 run to take their only lead of the second half at 62-61 with 9:39 left. However, the Chargers went back ahead on their next trip down the floor and outscored the Owls by a 17-6 margin the rest of the way.
 
THE FIRST HALF: The opening 20 minutes were a close affair, with neither team leading by more than six points. The Owls had a five-point lead early on and UNH took its half-dozen point cushion just before the opening horn. Carter had eight points and six rebounds to lead the Owls in the first half.
