WEST HAVEN, Conn. – Four players finished in double figures, but a late bucket from New Haven's Allieyah Cubbage paved the way for a 60-57 Chargers win over the Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team tonight.

Kiana Steinauer (Oakville, Ontario) notched a double-double with 10 points and 15 rebounds for the Owls.
Maria Weselyj (Marlborough, Conn.) totaled 12 points to lead the Owls, while
Murphy Murad (Storrs, Conn.) and
Taylor McLaughlin (Colchester, Conn.) each had 11 points.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
HOW IT HAPPENED: The Owls trailed by a point after the opening quarter, but outscored the Chargers by three points in the second frame to take a 30-28 lead into halftime. However, the Chargers came out strong in the third quarter and built a 49-42 cushion after 30 minutes.
Southern Connecticut rallied in the final quarter. A 10-0 spurt to start the frame gave the Owls a 52-51 cushion. From there, the lead went back and forth. McLaughlin's conventional three-point play gave SCSU a 57-54 lead, but the Chargers would score the final six points to claim the win.
UP NEXT: The Owls head to Le Moyne on Saturday at noon.
