BACK IN ACTION
Coming off a weekend split in Florida to open the 2017 season, the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team heads to South Carolina this weekend for four games. The Owls take on Molloy and Wilmington on Friday, LIU-Post in a single-game on Saturday, and Mercy on Sunday.

ALL-TIME AGAINST WILMINGTON
Southern Connecticut and Wilmington have faced off once, with the result a 2-2 tie to open the 2014 Owls' season.

ALL-TIME AGAINST MOLLOY
Southern Connecticut leads the all-time series with the Lions, 4-0. The last meeting was a 6-5 Owls' win in 2015.

ALL-TIME AGAINST LIU-POST
Southern Connecticut leads the all-time series with the Pioneers, 12-11. The teams last met in 2013, with SCSU taking three of four games.

ALL-TIME AGAINST MERCY
Southern Connecticut leads the all-time series with the  Mavericks, 6-3. The teams last met in 2015, a 10-5 SCSU win.

CAREER DAY FOR ZULLO
Senior co-captain Greg Zullo totaled a career-high five RBI in the game one win over Bentley

OWLS' DUO HONORED
Redshirt senior Cole Bryant of the Southern Connecticut State University baseball team was selected as the NE10 Pitcher of the Week after his performance in the Owls' 9-0 win over Bentley this past weekend. In addition, sophomore Tyler Criscuolo was selected to the league's weekly honor roll after his performance in the Owls' two games this weekend, where he batted .500.

The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team has been selected to finish fifth in the Southwest Division of the NE10 Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll.

CAPTAINS ANNOUNCED

Southern Connecticut State University baseball coach Tim Shea has announced that seniors Greg Zullo and Cole Bryant will serve as team captains for the 2017 season.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST SEASON
The baseball team finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 16-25-1. The Owls were selected to finish fourth in the Southwest Division preseason poll. Southern Connecticut came up just short of the NE10 Championship, finishing in fifth place. 

WELCOME BACK
Southern Connecticut returns 17 players from last year's squad - Nick Lamberti, Ryan Kaplan, Christopher Ramos, Ethan Joyce, Brandon Rentas, Jim Palmer, Jordan Hamler, Tyler Criscuolo, Greg Zullo, Mike Giordano, Griffin Bremer, Mike DeMartino, Kyle Hart, Shawn Urbano, Jake Santamaria, Quantique White and Cole Bryant.

WELCOME TO THE CLUB
Southern Connecticut welcomes Michael Charest, Nolan Cloutier, Austin Darrow, Brendan Ebert, Griffin Garabedian, Connor Redahan, Robert Schryver, John Spoto and Trevor Whalen to the team.

THREE OWLS EARN NE10 YEAR-END HONORS
Jake Paul, Nick Lamberti and Brandon Rentas were all honored by the NE10 at the conclusion of last year. Paul earned Second-Team All-Conference honors, while both Rentas and Lamberti earned a spot on the NE-10 All-Rookie Team.

EXCELLING IN THE CLASSROOM
Southern Connecticut had 11 student-athletes selected to the Northeast-10 Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for their work in the classroom during the fall, 2016 semester.

UP NEXT
The Owls are back in action on March 4 for a doubleheader against Post University. Game times are set for 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. These will be the first home contests of the season.
