NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University football team dropped a 14-6 decision to American International College in Northeast-10 Conference action on Friday evening.

THE KEY NOTES
- The Owls outgained AIC – 283-201 – in the contest. However, SCSU had three turnovers (two fumbles, one interception) compared to one for AIC.
- Trailing 14-6 late in the third quarter, the Owls fumbled going into the AIC end zone for the potential tying score.
- Quarterback
Raymond Catapano (Franklin Square, N.Y.) completed 14-of-28 passes for 115 yards, also also rushed eight times for a team-high 50 yards.

Paris Crawford (Bayonne, N.J.) led the receivers with five catches for 49 yards.
- There were a total of 23 penalties called in the game – 13 against the Owls and 10 against AIC – including one ejection for targeting.

Michael Cerisano (Newburgh, N.Y.) registered 11 tackles, while
Jhaaron Wallace (Hartford, Conn.) had 10 tackles and a sack.
HOW THE SCORING HAPPENED:
- Samad Davila opened the scoring with a five-yard rushing touchdown roughly midway through the first quarter. The ensuing PAT made it 7-0.
- It looked like the Owls were going to tie the game later in the first quarter.
Eli Parks (Bristol, Conn.) found the end zone on a five-yard touchdown run, but the ensuing PAT was blocked.
- The only other scoring came late in the third quarter, when AIC returned a punt 34 yards for a touchdown.
- The Owls had one final chance to tie the game and drove deep inside AIC territory before an interception in the closing minutes.
