TAKING IT BACK HOME
A four-game homestand awaits the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team this week. The Owls welcome rival New Haven on Tuesday evening before hosting three non-conference matches to close the week. Concordia (N.Y.) visits on Thursday evening, with a tri-match including New York Tech and Wilmington (Del.) set to kick off on Saturday morning.
ALL-TIME VS. NEW HAVEN
The Chargers hold a 43-4 edge in the all-time series between the schools. UNH posted a 3-0 win in last year's meeting in West Haven.
ALL-TIME VS. CONCORDIA
The Clippers hold an 8-6 edge in the all-time series between the schools. The teams last met in 2015, a 3-0 win for the Owls.
ALL-TIME VS. WILMINGTON
The all-time series with Wilmington is even at 2-2. Southern claimed a 3-0 win over Wilmington last year at Pelz Gym.
ALL-TIME VS. NYIT
The Bears have an 11-2 advantage in the all-time series with the Owls. NYIT defeated SCSU twice last year by tallies of 3-1 and 3-0.
LAST TIME OUT
A four-game winning streak came to a close on Saturday as the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team lost a 3-0 decision to St. Anselm.

Leanna Jadus had a team-high 13 kills for the Owls.

Alexandria Jurgens and
Alexandra Nimz were all in striking distance of double-doubles. Vazquez had eight kills and 11 digs. Jurgens had 13 assists and seven digs. Nimz had 21 assists and seven digs.
JADUS EARNS SECOND PLAYER OF WEEK HONOR
Leanna Jadus was selected as the NE10 Player of the Week for the second time this year on Sept. 19. She led the Owls to a 2-0 week with triumphs over Queens and LeMoyne. Jadus posted a double-double in the win over LeMoyne with a game-high 18 kills and 14 digs and also had a game-high 10 kills in the win over Queens. She had 3.5 kills and 2.1 digs per set for the Owls.
HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS
The Owls bring a 5-0 home mark into this week's contests. The single-season record for home wins is 14, set during the 2009 season.
JADUS EARNS WEEKLY HONOR ROLL SPOT
Leanna Jadus was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll for her play in the Owls' matches against Molloy, Bloomfield, LIU-Post, Post and Nyack.
NIMZ NETS 2,000
Alexandra Nimz recorded the 2,000th assist of her career in the win over Bloomfield and has 2,130 coming into the week. That tally is second all-time in SCSU history.
JURGENS MAKING A STATEMENT
Alexandria Jurgens has seen increased action in a setter's role over the past few weeks, and has fared well in that role. In fact, she narrowly missed her second career triple-double in the matches against LIU-Post and Molloy. Jurgens posted eight kills along with 17 assists and 13 digs against LIU-Post and had seven kills, 17 assists and 14 digs against Molloy. Jurgens is the last Owl to record a triple-double, posting a line of 11 kills, 19 assists and 12 digs in a win over LeMoyne on Oct. 8, 2016.

JADUS NAMED NE10 PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Leanna Jadus powered the Owls to a 3-0 opening week with triumphs over Bridgeport, Dominican and Georgian Court, posting two double-doubles in the process. For her efforts, she was named the NE10 Player of the Week. She averaged 4.22 kills and 3.78 digs per set while also hitting at a .281 clip. Jadus led the Owls in kills against Dominican and had double-doubles against Bridgeport and Georgian Court.
GAGE MAKES AN IMPACT
Junior transfer
Alyssa Gage fit right into the Owls' rotation during the opening weekend. She posted a team-high .452 hitting percentage in the Owls' three wins, including a perfect 1.000 (7-for-7) mark in the opening win over Dominican, which established a new SCSU single-game record (min. 7 kills).
OFF AND RUNNING
The 4-0 start for the Owls was Southern's first since the 2009 season. That squad set a program record for consecutive wins to start a campaign with 13.
IT'S BEEN A WHILE
Southern's win over Bridgeport on Sept. 3 was the Owls' first over the Purple Knights since the 1999 season.
JURGENS HITS HALF-MILENNIUM MARK
Alexandria Jurgens tallied her 500th career kill in the win over Georgian Court on Sept. 3.
JADUS MOVES UP THE CHARTS
Leanna Jadus is now in fifth place in program history in career attempts with 2,567. Next up is Kristen Wynus, who had 2,671 as an Owl.
A GOOD WAY TO START
The Owls have a pair of four-game homestands during the course of the 2017 season, including the opening four contests. The second four-game homestand will take place later in September with matches against New Haven, Concordia, New York Tech and Wilmington.
LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR
Southern Connecticut finished the 2016 season with an overall record of 15-19 and a conference record of 4-10. The Owls improved on both their overall and NE10 win totals from the season prior.

THRIVING IN THE CLASSROOM
The American Volleyball Coaches Association recognized Southern Connecticut State University for the second year in a row with its Team Academic Award during the summer of 2017. In addition, the Owls were also the 2017 recipients of SCSU's Academic Team of Champions Award for having the highest team grade point average of any Owls' squad.

Nicole Hauser has three of the five triple-doubles in program history, and also holds the single-match record with 25 kills.Â

Alexandra Nimz is ranked second all-time at SCSU in career assists. She also holds a share of the single-match record with 56 assists (set last year against Assumption) as well as two of the top-seven single-season assist marks in school history.

Leanna Jadus ranks first all-time in single-season attempts and also posted the third-highest single-season kill mark in program history. Jadus also holds four of the top five single-game attempt tallies - including the top-three - and three of the top-seven single-game kill marks in school history.

Alexandria Jurgens is the last Owl to record a triple-double, posting a line of 11 kills, 19 assists and 12 digs in a win over LeMoyne on Oct. 8, 2016.
