Alexandra Nimz (Littleton, Colo.) and junior
Leanna Jadus (Long Beach, Calif.) led the way for the Southern Connecticut State University volleyball team in its 3-1 win over Nyack on Tuesday night at Pelz Gym.

LOOKING AT THE NUMBERS
- Jadus registered her third straight double-double with 16 digs and 17 kills. For Nimz, it was her second straight double-double after a 43-assist, 11 dig performance.

Gabriela Vazquez (Meriden, Conn.) added 10 kills, while
Alyssa Gage (Beverly Hills, Fla.) chipped in nine kills for the Owls.
- Southern is now 4-0 for the first time since 2009, when it rolled off 13 straight wins to start that season.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
BREAKING DOWN THE ACTION
- Game one was a tightly contested affair, with the teams trading leads before eventually moving to a 15-15 tie. From there, the visitors scored 10 of the final 15 points of the frame to take the victory. It was the first game that the Owls had dropped in the 2017 season.
- Southern Connecticut jumped out to an 8-4 lead in game two and stretched the lead to 15-8 before Nyack called a timeout. The Warriors scored the next three points to close to 15-11, but Southern slowly pulled away for the 25-20 win.
- The Owls scored 10 of the first 13 points of game three, only to see Nyack rally to close the gap to a point at 11-10. Leading 12-11, the Owls created some distance with four straight points and held the lead for the rest of the way.
- SCSU stormed out to a 16-4 lead in game four and took it home from there to secure the win.
