The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team will play host to two teams this weekend - The College of Saint Rose on Jan 19. at 5 p.m. and Marist College on Jan. 20 at 1 p.m.

MITCHELL-WESTBERRY AND VANDER VOS RECEIVE CONFERENCE HONORS
Junior Tyler Vander Vos and freshman Tahj Mitchell-Westberry of the Southern Connecticut State University swimming and diving team received conference honors for their efforts against Le Moyne. Mitchell-Westberry was named NE10 Rookie of the Week while Vander Vos was named to the NE10 weekly honor roll.

PRESCOTT NAMED NE10 SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
Tyler Prescott was named the NE10 Swimmer of the Week for his efforts against Pace and WPI. Prescott recorded three first-place finishes with times of 53.33 in the 100 backstroke, 1:55.00 in the 200 backstroke and 4:18.83 in the 400 Individual Medley.

CASTELLONE ATTENDS NCAA SAAC SUPER REGION CONVENTION
Junior Tyler Castellone was one of two SCSU student-athletes selected to attend the Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Super Regional convention, which ran from Nov. 17-19 at the Gaylord National Harbor Hotel in Maryland. The NCAA Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Super Region Convention is intended to bolster student-athlete participation in the Division II governance structure and foster communication among SAACs at the campus, conference and national levels. The super region convention, which is part of the division's Foundation for the Future initiative, will debut in November 2017 and will be held in different super regions of the country for the next four years.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR
The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team finished as the 2017 NE10 Conference Swimming and Diving runner-up behind Bentley. David Gallino and Salim Lemond were awarded Co-Most Outstanding Diver honors.

ETIENNE, LEMOND HONORED BY NE10
Salim Lemond, who went on to earn All-America honors on both boards at the NCAA Championships, was also named the 2017 NE10 Diver of the Year. Owls' diving coach Stephen Etienne was also tabbed as the league's Coach of the Year for his efforts.

TEAM CAPTAINS
Senior Lucas Fanucci and junior Tyler Castellone will serve as captains for the 2017-18 season.

RETURNING OWLS
The Owls have 12 returners from the 2016-17 campaign.
