NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming and diving team fell to Marist in today's meet, 178-118.

KEY PERFORMERS
- The Owls started off with a second place finish in the 200 medley as the quartet of
Tyler Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.),
Drew Dantino (Waterbury, Conn.),
Bryce Murad (New Haven, Conn.) and
Leonardo LaPorte (Washingtonville, N.Y.) finished with a time of 1:37.72.
- Senior
Tyler Vander Vos (South Windsor, Conn.) finished second in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:42.40.
- The Owls filled out two of the top three in the 100 backstroke as
Tyler Prescott (Meriden, Conn.) placed second with a time of 53.01 and
Tyler Castellone (South Windsor, Conn.) finished third with a time of 53.68.
- Owls took first and second place in the 200 butterfly as
Max Padro (West Haven, Conn.) took first place with a time of 1:54.48 and
Leonardo LaPorte finished second with a time of 1:55.07.
- An exciting turn of events in the 50 freestyle as freshman Bryce Murad took first place with a time of 21.98 beating senior teammate
Tyler Vander Vos as he finished second with a time of 22.13.
- Men's swimming placed first and third in the 200 backstroke as
Tyler Prescott finished first with a time of 1:52.51 and
Ethan Dolan (Little Elm, Texas) finished third with a time of 1:59.57.
- The Owls dominated the 100 butterfly as
Leonardo LaPorte and
Max Padro placed first and second Laporte left the field in the dust as he recorded a time of 50.88 to take first place and Padro finished second with a time of 52.83.

The Owls will host University of Bridgeport on Friday Jan. 26, with the meet set to start at 4 p.m.
