HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Penmen went ahead early 12-7, in the first five minutes of the game. The Owls would claw back to go on 6-0 run to take a one-point lead off a three-pointer from McLeod.
- The Owls offense would take over before the half, as they went on a 15-6 run to extend the lead to 11 points. Southern would hold a nine-point lead going into halftime, 41-32.
- SNHU attacked the Owls coming out of halftime as they went on a 15-3run to take a 47-44 lead. The Owls would respond with an impressive 18-3 run later in the half to extend the lead to 14, their largest of the game.
- A late surge by the Penmen would bring them within three points of the Owls, but the host hit late free throws to secure a 75-70 victory over SNHU.
