HOW IT HAPPENED
- Scoreless through the first half, each team had their chances but the Warriors outshot the Owls, 5-4.
- The best opportunity came in the 50th minute when Merrimack was awarded a penalty kick, however the Warriors were unable to convert keeping the game deadlocked at 0-0.
- Southern was able to notch a goal in the 54th minute as Lukas Szymecki (Wethersfield, Conn.) was able to find space down the left side and passed a dangerous ball into the box where Cererols was able to receive it and shoot it past the goalkeeper.
- Merrimack played a hard fought game as they forced Bailey Bassett (Andover, Conn.) to make five saves tonight, but Cererols second half goal and Bassett's strong play in net helped the Owls' soar to victory on Homecoming night.
