The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team will compete against Iona College on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. in New Rochelle, N.Y.

RECAP OF SEASON OPENER
The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving squad finished second with a score of 340 in the Fairfield Invitational.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST YEAR
The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team finished as the 2018 NE10 Conference Swimming and Diving Champions. Katie Crochet was named Most Outstanding Swimmer at last year's NE10 Championship.

QUILL EARNS NE10 HONORS
Head coach Tim Quill was named NE10 Coach of the year for his efforts guiding the Owls during the 2018-19 season.

CROCHET RECEIVES CONFERENCE HONORS
Kathrine Crochet received NE10 Swimmer of the Year as well as Most Outstanding Champion Swimmer laurels during the 2017-18 season.

OWLS AWARDED NE10 ACADEMIC LAURELS
Emily Wolfe, Megan Garner and Michelle Quero selected to NE10 Women's Swimming and All-Academic Team for their efforts in the pool and in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.

TEAM EARNS ACADEMIC HONORS
The 2017-18 women's swimming and diving earned College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-American team.

TEAM CAPTAINS
Senior Meaghan Spagnolo and junior Avery Fornaciari will serve as the captains for the 2018-19 season.

RETURNING OWLS
The Owls have 17 returners from the 2018-19 campaign: Shannon Blakeslee, Kerstin Eckner, Arielle Eighmy Morgan Fernald, Lindsey Fitzgerald, Avery Fronaciari, Megan Garner, Erin Leirey, Hannah Morse, Bailey Shaffer, Samantha Soto, Meaghan Spagnolo, Jordan Thompson, Alina Tucker, Emily Waehler, Isabel Williams and Emily Wolfe.  
   
WELCOME TO THE CLUB
The Owls welcome nine newcomers for the 2018-19 season - Nicole Cislo, Emily Darroch, Rebekah Lockery, Tara Merkle, Brooke Pope, Emily Sherry, Ashley Sloan, Lauren Spencer and Loren Wurst.

SCSU is back in action on Saturday, Oct. 12 as it travels to West Chester, Pa. to compete in a meet against West Chester and Shippensburg.
