Men's Basketball Drops 69-67 Contest to University of The Sciences

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball dropped a 69-67 decision to the University of the Sciences off a buzzer-beater shot at Harvey Hubbell Gymnasium this afternoon.

FIRST HALF
  • The Owls came out hot outscoring the Devils 13-5 in the first five minutes of the game shooting 5-6 from the field in that span. 
  • USciences had a 12-5 surge of their own and ended the half with a 28-26 lead.
  • Seaforth led the Owls in scoring with 10 points in 15 minutes of play in the first half.

SECOND HALF
  • After the break, Southern went on a 12-2 run, shooting 6-9 from the field while forcing the Devils to go 0-5 during the run.
  • USciences tied the game at 56 all at the 6:41 mark, the Owls increased their lead to as much as four points, but two good three-pointers in the last 35 second from Paddy Casey gave the Devils the win.
 
UP NEXT
The Owls will travel to Albany, N.Y. to face conference opponent Saint Rose on November 14 for a 7:30 p.m. showing.
