HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern opened the game with a 5-0 run in a minute span. Le Moyne responded with a 7-0 of its own to capture the lead, but the Owls would finish the frame up by one.
- The Dolphins elevated their offense to start the second quarter as they went on an 11-3 run within the first four minutes of play. Le Moyne gained the lead and was up by two heading into halftime.
- Both teams began the third quarter with hot hands as the lead changed six times in the first four minutes. Le Moyne jumped ahead by two possessions on four separate occasions and finished the third frame up by five.
- Southern found its groove to start the final quarter and went on a 10-0 run to briefly capture the lead. The remaining six minutes was a back-and-forth scoring extravaganza. A layup from
Imani Wheeler (Dumfries, Va.) with 1:45 remaining was the difference maker as the Owls warded off the Dolphins to capture the 53-52 win.
