HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Owls started with a scorching 9-0 run in the first three minutes of play. The Hawks would answer with an 11-2 run to tie the score with 15:27 left in the first half.
- Saint Anselm went on an 8-4 run midway through the first half to extend their lead to 39-30. The Owls would respond with a 12-2 run to tie the game at 44-44 with 2:05 left in the first half. SCSU went into halftime with a 48-47 lead.
- It was a tight scoring affair through the first eight-plus minutes of the second half. Leading 68-66, the Hawks went on a 12-4 spurt to build a 10-point cushion at 80-70.
- The Owls would respond with a 12-4 run to cut the Hawks lead to two at 84-82. Saint Anselm outscored the Owls 9-4 in the final four minutes of the game to give it a 93-86 win.
