HOW IT HAPPENED
- Southern opened the game with an explosive first quarter where they outscored Saint Rose 23-15. The Owls shot 71.4% (5-for-7) from beyond the arc with Murad going 2-for-3 to get their offense rolling.
- SCSU led throughout the entire second frame and finished with a 6-0 run to put them up by three heading into halftime.
- It was a back and forth scoring affair in the third quarter as the lead changed four times while both teams traded points, but Saint Rose would finish the quarter up by two.
- The final frame saw the scoring race tighten as both teams battled offensively to gain the lead. A late offensive push from Steinauer and
Africa Williams (New York, N.Y.) put the Owls up by four with 1:10 remaining. Southern tightened their defense and left Albany with a 60-59 victory.
