Head coach Kate Lynch and Kiana Steinauer
- Senior
Abby Hurlbert (Thomaston, Conn.) started the Owls 5-0 run early in the game with a 3-point shot 15 seconds in. Both teams ramped up the defense in the opening minutes as neither team scored for a little over two minutes. Stonehill counterattacked and gained the lead finishing the first frame up by one.
- The Skyhawks opened the second quarter with an 11-0 run. Both squads traded baskets for the remainder of the frame, but Stonehill went into halftime with a 14-point lead.
- Southern made multiple valiant efforts in the third quarter to chip away at the Skyhawks lead, but Stonehill's offense continued to push forward. The Skyhawks finished the third frame up by 16-points.
- Steinauer attempted to get the Owls offense rolling in the opening minute of the final quarter with a layup. Southern's offense then traded buckets with Stonehill before the Skyhawks went on a 10-0 run. Stonehill's tight defense and poised offensive play was the deciding factor in the victory.
The Owls conclude their season with an overall record of 21-10 in addition to their fifth straight appearance in the NE10 tournament and their first appearance in the NCAA tournament since 2012.
