NEW HAVEN, Conn. - Sophomore
Ignasi Perez Cererols (Barcelona, Spain) scored the game-winning goal as the Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer squad slipped past cross-town rival the University of New Haven 3-2 in overtime.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Owls came out hot in the first half as they scored two quick goals to take the lead. First, Cererols took a free-kick that curled into the bottom right corner of the net at the 13:18 mark to give Southern their first goal. Three minutes later, junior
Devante Teixeira (Boston, Mass.) scored off an assist from Cererols to double the Owls lead.
- New Haven cut the Owls lead in half just before halftime.
- The Chargers tied it up at two in the 56th minute off of a penalty kick, which later forced overtime.
- In extra time, Cererols scored the game-winner off of a headed pass from Teixera to give the Owls their second conference win of the year.
