Women's Swimming and Diving Claim A 155-123 Win Against Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming and diving team claimed a 155-123 win against Le Moyne College.
 
NOTABLE FINISHERS
  • The quartet of Morgan Fernald (Belfast, Maine), Meaghan Spagnolo (Waterbury, Conn.), Emily Wolfe (Havertown, Pa.) and Megan Garner (Hamden, Conn.) took first place in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:53.00.
  • Three Owls collected points in the 100 freestyle; Avery Fornaciari (Plymouth, Mass.) took first with a time of 10:57.20, then Ashley Sloan (Maywood, N.J.) placed third with a time of 11:48.50 and teammate Loren Wurst (Brookfield, Conn.) came in fourth with a time of 11:57.70.
  •  Southern fared well in the 200 freestyle taking the top spots; Alina Tucker (Bellmore, N.Y.) finished first with a time of 2:00.28, Rebekah Lockery (Stamford, Conn.) claimed second with a time of 2:03.53 and Emily Darroch (Oxford, Conn.) placed third with a time of 2:04.65.
  • Hannah Morse (Loveland, Colo.) placed first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:03.12.
  • Nicole Cislo (Wallingford, Conn.) took first place in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.12 as teammate Erin Leirey (Lake Katrine, N.Y.) came in second with a time of 1:12.38.
  • Wolfe claimed second place in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:17.61, Laruen Spencer (North Haven, Conn.) finished fourth with a time of 2:22.50 while Shannon Blakeslee (Wallingford, Conn.) placed fifth with a time of 2:24.98.
  • Garner and Fernald took second and third in the 50 freestyle, Garner finished with a time of 26.14 and Fernald had a time of 26.25.
  • Isabel Williams (Woodbury, Conn.) took first place in the 1-meter dive with a score of 138.75 and Arielle Eighmy (Milford, Conn.) finished second with a score of 124.25. Willaims took first in the 3-meter dive with a score of 190.80 and Eighmy grabbed second with a score of 173.85.
  • Tucker placed first in the 100 freestyle with a time 55.78.
  • Two Owls came in the top three in the 200 backstroke, Spencer claimed first with a time of 2:12.66 and Fernald  came in second with a time of 2:18.42.

The Owls are back in action on Jan. 18thto host TCNJ, with the meet set to start at 3 p.m.
