Men's Basketball Drops 113-99 Contest To Saint Anselm

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team dropped a 113-99 contest to Saint Anselm College at Moore Field House. The Hawks improve to 13-2 overall and 9-1 in the NE10, while Southern drops to 10-7 overall and 4-5 in the NE10.

C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) broke a career-high in points with 32 to lead the team, while adding three assists and one steal. Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) scored a career-high with 27 points, adding four rebounds, two assists and one steal. Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) recorded a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds along with one assist and one steal.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• It was a tale of two halves as Saint Anslem scored 65 points in the first half shooting 65 percent from the field to go into halftime up 65-41.

• The Owls second half adjustments helped chip away at the Hawks lead as they outscored Saint Anselm, 58-48, but the Hawks first-half surge secured their 113-99 win.

NOTABLE FACTS

• C.J. Seaforth broke a career-high in points with 32 to lead the Owls. His previous career-high was against Saint Rose on Nov. 14, 2018 were he collected 22.

• Kealen Ives broke a career-high in points with 27. His previous career-high was set on Jan. 12, 2019 against Southern New Hampshire with 24 points.
• Isaiah McLeod registered his fifth double-double of the season with 18 points and 10 rebounds.
