On the heels of a seven-game winning streak, the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team resumes Northeast 10 Conference play when it hosts Merrimack on Wednesday, Jan. 7 at 7:30 p.m. The Owls will then head to Manchester, N.H. to take on Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Jan. 12 at 3:30 p.m.

ALL-TIME VS. MERRIMACK
 •  The Owls lead the all-time series against Merrimack, 24-21.
 •  Southern and Merrimack have split their series the last two seasons, with the home team winning each year.
 •  The Owls own a six-game winning streak against Merrimack on their home court, with their last loss to the Warriors at the Moore Field House coming in 2009.
 
ALL-TIME VS. SOUTHERN NEW HAMPSHIRE
 •  Southern Connecticut and Southern New Hampshire have met 74 times, with the Penmen owning a 52-22 record against the Owls.
 •  The Owls won both games last season against the Penmen, including a 76-74 win in the NE10 tournament.
 •  SCSU has won four of the last five meetings against Southern New Hampshire, with the loss coming in Manchester in 2016-17.
 
THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
 •  The Owls capped off their non-conference schedule with a 112-57 win at LIU-Post.
 •  Southern's 55-point win at LIU-Post was their third-highest margin of victory, and its highest since a 122-62 win against Baruch in 1974.
 •  Isaiah McLeod led the Owls with 27 points after shooting 7-for-9 from beyond the arc while he also grabbed five rebounds and had three assists and three steals in the win.
 •  Ulyen Coleman scored 20 points on 5-for-10 shooting from three-point territory and also tallied three assists, two rebounds and two steals.
 •  C.J. Seaforth registered 15 points going 4-for-8 from the three-point line and also compiled seven rebounds and six assists.
 •  Luke Beesley recorded his seventh double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
 
THE OWLS BY THE NUMBERS
 •  Senior Luke Beesley leads the NE10 and ranks sixth nationally with seven double-doubles to date.
 •  Beesley also ranks 20th nationally and leads the NE10 with 9.8 rebounds per game.
 •  His 117 total rebounds rank second in the NE10 and 23rd nationally.
 •  Kealan Ives' 6.3 assists per game rank second in the NE10 and 16th in NCAA Division II basketball.
 •  His 88 assists also rank second in the NE10 and seventh naitonally.
 •  Isaiah McLeod ranks third in the NE10 and 28th nationally at 21.7 points per game.
 •  Ulyen Coleman currently leads the NE10 in three-point field goal percentage (50.0%) while also ranking 14th nationally.
 •  Coleman's 41 three-pointers also lead the NE10 and rank 19th nationally.
 •  As a team, the Owls' 143 three-pointers rank second in the conference and 15th among all DII schools.

 •  With his 27 points against the Pioneers, McLeod now stands in 11th place with 1,431 career points and trails Paul "Topsy" DelGobbo 57' for 10th place all-time at SCSU with 1,507.
 
LOCKER ROOM COMPETITION
 •  McLeod hit seven three-pointers against LIU-Post.The last person to hit six-or-more three-pointers in a game was Ulyen Coleman against New Haven on Jan. 31, 2018 with nine.

Luke Beesley registered his seventh double-double on the season, he is first in the conference and ninth in the nation in double-doubles this year.
 
GETTIN' BUCKETS
 •  The Owls offense scored a season-high 112 points in its win at LIU Post. It was the most points scored in a single game since Jan. 30, 2016 when SCSU registered 113 against Bentley.
 
FEELING IT FROM DOWNTOWN
 •  Against LIU Post, Southern's offense made 19 three-pointers. The last time the Owls made 15-or-more three-point field goals in a game was on Jan. 31, 2018 with 17 from long range against New Haven.
 
STREAKING!!!
 •  The Owls romp of LIU Post was their seventh-straight victory. The last time the Owls won seven-straight games was from Nov. 15, 2014 to Dec. 3, 2014.
 •  The Owls' seven-game winning streak includes a perfect 6-0 mark for the month of December and a 3-0 mark against Northeast 10 competition.
 •  Five of the Owls' seven wins came by double digits, highlighted by a 55-point victory against LIU Post in their last outing.
 •  The Owls outscored their opponents, 652-462 (+190), and won by an average of 17 points, per game.
 
MOVING UP THE CHARTS
With his 27 points against the Pioneers, McLeod now stands at 1,431 on the Owls all-time points list and now trails Paul "Topsy" DelGobbo 57' for 10th place with 1,507.

The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team was ranked ninth in the seventh week of the D2SIDA Men's Basketball East Region Media Poll, as announced on Jan. 7, 2019. The Owls move up one spot from last week.

Following its date against Merrimack on Wednesday, the Owls will travel to Manchester, N.H. on Saturday, Jan. 12 to take on Southern New Hampshire University at 3:30 p.m. Southern returns home on Tuesday, Jan. 15 to host Saint Anselm for a 7:30 tip-off.
