The Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer team will travel to Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. to take on Mercy in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Oct. 12 at 12 p.m. The Owls have won three-straight games and are 6-2-1 on the year while Mercy is currently 7-2-0 for the season after defeating New Haven on Tuesday, Oct. 8.

ALL-TIME AGAINST MERCY
  • Saturday's non-conference matchup between SCSU and Mercy will be the sixth meeting all-time between the two teams, with the Knights owning a 3-2 record all-time against the Owls.
THEIR LAST TIME OUT
  • Southern Connecticut State University women's soccer sophomore Kaitlyn D'Amico (Middletown, Conn.) scored her team-leading fourth goal of the season to lift the Owls to a 1-0 win against Pace in an NE10 showdown in Pleasantville, N.Y. on Tuesday, Oct. 8. 
  • Johanna Wahlen (Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg, Germany) set up the play for her team-leading third assist of the year. 
  • Allie Smith (Danbury, Conn.) saw only one shot-on-goal from the Setters in regulation, which she turned away for her third-straight shutout and sixth overall of the year. 
NOTES
  • With the win against Pace, the Owls pushed their winning streak to three-straight games and jumped the Setters for fourth place in the conference standings.
  • Allie Smith now owns a conference-leading six shutouts, including three-straight games.
  • The last time the Owls had a three-game shutout streak was during the 2014 season. 
  • Smith is currently ranked second in the NE10 in both save percentage (.882) and goals-against average (0.77) while she also improves to 7-2-1 through her first 10 games as the Owls' starting goalkeeper. 
  • As a team, Southern has outscored its opponents, 14-8, through its first 10 games, and have yet to allowed a first half goal.
UP NEXT
Southern's road tour continues on Wednesday, Oct. 16 when it plays its final non-conference game of the regular season at Post and then heads to Colchester, Vt. to face Saint Michael's on Saturday, Oct. 19.
