Men's Soccer Falls to Franklin Pierce, 3-1

NEW HAVEN, Conn.  - The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team was dealt a 3-1 loss by Franklin Pierce University in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field. With the loss, the Owls drop to 2-4-4 overall and 1-4-2 in conference play, while the Ravens improve to 7-2-1 overall and 5-1-0 in conference play.

How It Happened
  • The game went scoreless into the second half before the Ravens broke out with two back-to-back goals from Antonio Ferreira, who scored in 54th minute and Marc Forner, who scored in the 62nd minute. 
  • Kevin Van der Pol (Drammen, Norway) put the Owls on the board in the 76th minute, scoring his first goal of the season cutting the Ravens lead in half.
  • Stefan Lohberger capped off the scoring with a goal for the Ravens in the 83rd minute to extend the lead to 3-1. Franklin Pierce went on to capture the 3-1 victory.

Southern is back in action on Wednesday, Oct. 16 when it takes on University of Bridgeport in a non-conference road matchup at 4 p.m.
