Men's Swimming & Diving Wraps Tri-Meet Against Shippensburg, West Chester

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University men's swimming & diving team completed the final day of events of its tri-meet against Shippensburg and West Chester at Hutchinson Natatorium.

Bryce Castellone won the 1,650 Freestyle for his third win of the two-day event after taking the 500 Freestyle and 400 Individual Medley on Friday night.

1650 FREESTYLE

Bryce Castellone won his third event of the two-day tri-meet as he took the 1650 Freestyle event with a time of 16:48.80. Castellone won the 500 Freestyle and 400 Individual Medley on Friday night.

3 METER DIVING

Andrew Buehler won the 3 Meter Diving event with a score of 230.55.

200 MEDLEY RELAY

Southern finished fourth in the 200 Medley Relay as Chandler Tucker, Matthew Widlar, Max Padro and Leonardo Laporte posted a time of 1:40.28.

50 FREESTYLE

Leonardo Laporte posted a time of 22.87 to finish fourth in the 50 Freestyle event. Laporte was .71 off the top time in the close event.

200 FREESTYLE

Chandler Tucker finished second in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:48.51 followed by Tyler Cusano in fourth place at 1:50.75.

100 BUTTERFLY

Leonardo Laporte finished second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 51.98 while Max Padro placed seventh at 55.14.

200 INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY

Bryce Castellone was the Owls' top finisher again with a time of 2:03.26 for fourth place in the 200 Individual Medley. Chandler Tucker was close behind at 2:03.36 for fifth place.

UP NEXT

Southern will host its annual Alumni Meet as part of Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 10 a.m. at Bruce Hutchinson Natatorium.
