Men's Soccer To Host Saint Anselm For Homecoming Matchup On Saturday, Oct. 19

The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team will host Saint Anselm for a Northeast 10 Conference matchup as part of SCSU's Homecoming Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 7 p.m. The Owls enter the weekend with a record of 2-5-4 overall and 1-4-2 in NE10 play while Saint Anselm is currently 2-5-0 in conference games and 6-5-0 overall.

THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
• The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team was dealt a 5-1 loss at Bridgeport. 
• Freshman Ben Pierce scored his first career goal. 

ALL-TIME AGAINST SAINT ANSELM
• Southern will host Saint Anselm with a record of 14-3-1 in the all-time series.
• The Hawks took last year's contest, 3-2, to end a five-game winning streak by the Owls.

NOTES
• Kevin Van der Pol scored his first goal of the season in the Owls loss against the Ravens. 
• Van der Pol now has a goal and two assists for four points for the year.
• Devante Teixeria leads Southern in assists (4) and points (8) and is one of four players with multiple goals this season.
• Daniel Utgaard and Francisco Roldan have both scored three times this season while Juan Avila has added two goals and an assist.
• Ben Pierce's goal against Bridgeport made him the ninth player to score a goal for the Owls in 2019.

UP NEXT
Following its tilt against Saint Anselm, the Owls will travel to American International on Friday, Oct. 25 for the first of three-straight games on the road, including trips to Bentley on Oct. 29 and Southern New Hampshire on Nov. 2, before closing the 
regular season at home against Le Moyne on Nov. 6.
