The Southern Connecticut men's soccer team will continue Northeast 10 Conference play when it travels to Springfield, Mass. to take on American International College on Friday, Oct. 25 at Ronald J. Abdow Field. The game, originally scheduled for 7 p.m., has been moved to 3:30 p.m.

THE OWLS LAST TIME OUT
  • Blais Haba's (West Haven, Conn.) goal in the 92nd minute of play gave the Owls a 1-0 win in overtime against Saint Anselm on Homecoming on Oct. 19.

NOTES
  • Against Saint Anselm, Ian Shannon stopped all three shots-on-goal that he saw in the night cap to record his first career shutout and improve to 1-1-0 on the year.
  • Haba's goal against the Hawks was his first of the season and second of his career.
  • Kevin Van der Pol scored his first goal of the season in the Owls loss against Franklin Pierce on Oct. 12. 
  • Van der Pol now has a goal and two assists for four points for the year.
  • Devante Teixeria leads Southern in assists (4) and points (8) and is one of four players with multiple goals this season.
  • Daniel Utgaard and Francisco Roldan have both scored three times this season while Juan Avila has added two goals and an assist.
  • Ben Pierce's goal against Bridgeport made him the ninth player to score a goal for the Owls in 2019.
 
UP NEXT
Friday's game against American International is the first of three-straight games on the road, which includes stops at Bentley on Tuesday, Oct. 29 and Southern New Hampshire on Saturday, Nov. 2, before closing the regular season at home against Le Moyne on Wednesday, Nov. 6.
