The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will travel to Washington, D.C. to face the University of the District of Columbia in a non-conference matchup on Saturday, Nov. 16. The Owls, who have won three-straight non-conference meetings thus far, have started off 3-0 in back-to-back seasons. They'll look to make it 4-0 when they travel south.

The Last Time They Met: These two squads last faced each other on Nov. 11, 2017 when UDC took a 77-71 victory over SCSU. Africa Williams led the Owls with 16 points in her SCSU debut. Abby Hurlbert  and Imani Wheeler also reached double figures with 10 points apiece.
 
Last Time Out
  • The Owls defeated Queens College, 63-51 in their home opener on Nov. 13 at Moore Field House.
  • Senior Kiana Steinauer collected her second double-double of the year with 18 points and 12 rebounds, shooting 9-for-14 while bringing in nine steals and three assists. She has been in double-digit point totals in all three games thus far.
  • Senior Aaliyah Walker tallied 15 points and six rebounds.
  • Senior Imani Wheeler posted 10 points three steals and two assists in the win.
  • Redshirt-freshman Alexa Kellner's two blocked shots were a season-high.
  • Southern Connecticut's 15 steals were a season-high. Their previous season-high was 12 on Nov. 9 at Bridgeport. 15 steals were also a 2018-19 season-high set on February 6, 2019 against New Haven.
 
Record Following
  • Kiana Steinauer is now up 1,047 career points, ranking 19th all-time in program history.
  • Steinauer's 33 rebounds this season puts her 24 away from breaking the 1,000 mark in rebounds. She previously broke 1,000 points in the Owls game against Bridgeport on Nov. 9.
