Women's Swimming & Diving Falls To Iona

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's swimming & diving team lost to Iona, 191-78, at the Bruce Hutchinson Natatorium in New Haven, Conn.

200 YARD MEDLEY RELAY

The relay team of Hannah Nyquist, Maddie Dean, Olivia Strevelitz and Anya Celmer finished fifth with a time of 1:59.68.

1000 YARD FREESTYLE

Emily Darroch was the Owls' top finisher in the 1,000 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 11:16.41.

200 YARD FREESTYLE

Avery Fornaciari led the Owls in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:58.29.

100 YARD BACKSTROKE

Hannah Nyquist was Southern's top finisher in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 1:04.35.

100 YARD BREASTSTROKE

Rebekah Lockery was fifth at 1:13.90 while Faith Littleton was sixth at 1:15.00.

200 YARD BUTTERFLY

Erin Leirey was the Owls finisher in the 200 Yard Butterfly with a time of 2:21.28 for fifth place.

50 YARD FREESTYLE

Alina Tucker swam a 26.19 in the 50 Yard Freestyle event for fifth place while Emily Darroch was sixth at 26.46.

100 YARD FREESTYLE

Morgan Fernald placed fourth in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 56.87.

200 YARD BACKSTROKE

Hannah Morse posted a time of 2:14.14 in the 200 Yard Backstroke to finish in second place.

200 YARD BREASTSTROKE

Maddie Dean led the Owls in the 200 Yard Breaststroke event with a time of 2:37.81.

500 YARD FREESTYLE

Avery Fornaciari blew-away the field in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a first-place finish in 5:18.03, almost three-seconds faster than Iona's Isabelle Pabon.
Faith Littleton grabbed third place with a time of 5:22.18.

100 YARD BUTTERFLY

Emily Waehler was fifth in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:06.35.

200 YARD INDIVIDUAL MEDLEY

Maddie Dean was the Owls' top finisher in the 200 Yard IM after finishing in second place at 2:18.19.
Morgan Fernald was fourth at 2:19.70.

200 YARD FREESTYLE RELAY

The relay team of Megan Garner, Tess DiDomenico, Morgan Fernald and Alina Tucker finished at 1:45.35 for the third-best time in the eight-relay field.
