Fresh off winning two non-conference games against Queens College and Concordia College, the Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will open up Northeast 10 Conference play by hosting the American International College Yellow Jackets on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 7:30 p.m.

All-Time vs. American International College: 31-50
  • Southern played the Yellow Jackets twice last season, winning on the road and falling at home. On Dec. 4, 2018, the Owls won 72-61 in Springfield, Mass. as then seniors Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) had 31 points and Luke Beesley had a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. At James Moore Field House, the Yellow Jackets came away with an 83-77 victory. McLeod finished with 34 points, while Beesley had 13 points and seven rebounds.
 
What You Need To Know
  • The Owls are coming off back-to-back wins by a combined margin of 48 points, defeating Queens College by a score of 75-60 on Nov. 20 and Concordia College by a score of 110-77 on Nov. 23.
  • Southern went a perfect 16-16 from the free throw line against Concordia, the third most free throws made in a game without a miss in program history. It was just the fifth game in program history the Owls shot 100 percent from the free throw line (min. 12 attempts). 
  • Southern scored 110 points in a game at James Moore Field House for the first time since Jan. 15, 2015 against Saint Anselm, a 120-100 victory.
  • Southern scored 61 points in the second half against Concordia, their most points scored in any half of a game since Nov. 12, 2016 against Holy Family when they scored 63 in the second half during a 105-103 win.
  • Junior C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.), had a game-high 24 points on 8-11 shooting while making six three-pointers against Concordia. 
  • Freshman Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) scored 20 points against Concordia, becoming the first Southern freshman to score at least 20 points in a game since since Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) scored 29 against New Haven on Jan. 31, 2018. 
  • Senior Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) has recorded a double-double in two consecutive games.
  • Southern has had five players score in double-figures in consecutive games for the first time this season. Southern only had one instance last year where they had five players score in double-figures in consecutive games; Jan. 19, and Jan. 23, 2019 against Stonehill and Franklin Pierce. 
  • Adams II was named to the Northeast 10 Weekly Honor Roll for the third week of the season, as he averaged 16.5 points and 11 rebounds against Queens and Concordia.
  • The Owls ranked eighth nationally in free-throw percentage, going 67-81 from the line for an 82.7 percent clip.

The Owls are off for the rest of the month of November. They continue NE10 Conference play on Wednesday, Dec. 4 against University of New Haven Chargers at Charger Gymnasium at 7:30 p.m.
