Women's Swimming & Diving Tops Pace, 148-137

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The Southern Connecticut women's swimming & diving team defeated Pace, 148-137, in a dual meet at the Bruce Hutchinson Natatorium in New Haven, Conn.

Avery Fornaciari won the 200 Yard Freestyle and 100 Yard Butterfly event and Faith Littleton took the 500 Yard Freestyle. The Owls' relay teams won both the events with Morgan Fernald, Nicole Cislo, Hannah Nyquist and Megan Garner winning the 200 Yard Medley Relay and the team of Cislo, Emily Darroch, Alina Tucker and Fornaciari won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay.

200 Yard Medley Relay

The Owls relay team of Morgan Fernald, Nicole Cislo, Hannah Nyquist and Megan Garner won the first event of the dual meet with a time of 1:54.17.

1000 Yard Freestyle

Jordan Thompson finished second with a time of 11:10.80 followed by Rebekah Lockery in third place at 11:11.52 and Lindsey Fitzgerald in fourth at 11:34.77.

200 Yard Freestyle

Avery Fornaciari won the 200 Yard Freestyle event with a time of 1:58.97 while Alina Tucker was third with a time of 2:00.63. Both times were season-bests for the Owls.

100 Yard Backstroke

Morgan Fernald won the 100 Yard Backstroke with the Owls' top time of the season to date at 1:02.58, followed by Hannah Morse in second at 1:03.60 and Maddie Dean in fourth at 1:04.50.

100 Yard Breaststroke

Nicole Cislo finished second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:11.22 followed by Erin Leirey in third at 1:12.41.

200 Yard Butterfly

Hannah Nyquist took the 200 Yard Butterfly event with a time of 2:17.71 followed by Laruen Spencer in second at 2:24.24 and Olivia Strelevitz in third at 2:25.44.

50 Yard Freestyle

Alina Tucker was second in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 25.86, which was her best time of the season and also the top time for the year for the Owls, followed by Tess DiDomenico in fourth at 26.43.

1 Meter Diving

Ceclia Vess finished second in the 1 Meter Diving event with a score of 176.48.

100 Yard Freestyle

Alina Tucker was second in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 55.95 while Megan Garner finished fourth at 57.80. The duo's times were the two fastest of the year for Southern.

200 Yard Backstroke

Hannah Morse was second in the 200 Yard Backstroke with a time of 2:15.17 while Hannah Nyquist was third at 2:18.03. Morse's time was also a season-best for the Owl and the team.

200 Yard Breaststroke

Nicole Cislo won the 200 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 2:37.47 followed by Lindsey Fitzgerald in second at 2:38.74.

500 Yard Freestyle

Faith Littleton won the 500 Yard Freestyle with a team-, season-best time of 5:27.09 while Rebekah Lockery finished third at 5:33.41, which is the third fastest time of the year for the Owls.

100 Yard Butterfly

Avery Fornaciari won the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 59.87 followed by Erin Leirey in third place at 1:02.83 and Hannah Nyquist in fourth at 1:03.58.

400 Yard Individual Medley

Erin Leirey finished second at 4:47.24 while Maddie Dean was third at 4:53.58.

200 Yard Freestyle Relay

The Owls relay team of Nicole Cislo, Emily Darroch, Alina Tucker and Avery Fornaciari won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:45.36, while the team of Faith Littleton, Tess DiDomenico, Megan Garner and Jordan Thompson were second.
