The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team returns home to Moore Field House on Saturday, Dec. 14 after a three-game road trip to face Chestnut Hill College in non-conference play at Moore Field House. The Owls are coming off a 51-38 conference victory over the College of Saint Rose on Dec. 10, while the Griffins are coming off a gritty 66-64 loss to the University of New Haven on Dec. 11.

All-Time Against Chestnut Hill: 0-1
The Last Time They Met: These two squads last faced each other on Dec. 15, 2018 as Chestnut Hill took a 69-63 victory over the Owls. 
Allie Smith '19 broke a career-high in points for the second straight game, picking up 15 points while shooting 50% from the field and collecting five rebounds. Kiana Steinauer collected her ninth double-double of the season putting up, 16 points and 13 rebounds along with game-high five steals.

Last Time Out
  • The Owls defeated Saint Rose, 51-38 on Dec. 10 in Albany, N.Y.
  • Redshirt junior Jessica Fressle was the force behind the Owls' win, collecting 21 points, five rebounds and three steals through 37 minutes of play.
  • Senior Aaliyah Walker had a solid showing for Southern, collecting a career-high 12 rebounds, seven points, an assist and a steal.
  • Junior transfer Ednaija Lassiter picked up ten points, eight rebounds, two assists and a steal.

Player Notes
  • Kiana Steinauer is now up 1,065 career points, ranking 18th all-time in program history.
  • Steinauer's 50 rebounds this season puts her seven away from breaking the 1,000 mark in rebounds. She previously broke 1,000 points in the Owls game against Bridgeport on Nov. 9.
  • With four steals against New York Tech on Nov. 20, Imani Wheeler hit the 150 career steals marker. Her 33 steals this season put her at 169 career steals. She broke a career-high in the Owls game against AIC on Nov. 26 with eight.
  • Alexa Kellner's five steals against New Haven was a career-high. Her previous career-high was on Nov. 9 against Bridgeport when she had two.
  • Aaliyah Walker notched a career-high 12 rebounds against Saint Rose on Dec. 11. Her previous career-high was set on Nov. 25, 2018 when she had eight rebounds against Queens College.

  • Imani Wheeler is first in the conference in steals per game with 3.7. She is also tied for first with Adelphi's Katie Murphy in total steals with 33,
  • Kiana Steinauer is tied for sixth in the conference in steals with 17. 
  • Jessica Fressle is eighth in the conference in total points with 132 and ninth in points per game with 14.7.
  • Fressle is also fourth in free throws, going 33-for-38 on the season and is sixth in free throw percentage of 86.8.
