The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will play two games this week, one in conference and one out of conference. On Tuesday, Dec. 10 the Owls will head to New York's Greater Capital region to face the College of Saint Rose for a 5:30 p.m. NE10 matchup with the Golden Knights. Then on Saturday, Dec. 14, the Owls will return to Moore Field House after a three-game road trip to face Chestnut Hill College in nonconference play.

All-Time Against New Saint Rose: 25-11
The Last Time They Met: These two squads last faced each other on Feb. 9 as the Owls captured an 80-55 decision. Amanda Pfohl '19 collected a career-high 28 points on 10-of-15 shooting from the floor and 6-of-10 shooting from three-point range. 
Kiana Steinauer collected her 19th double-double of the year with 24 points and 16 rebounds, while chipping in three steals and three assists. Junior Imani Wheeler notched 18 points, five assists and four steals, while senior Allie Smith '19 had a career-high eight rebounds and four assists in the win.
 
All-Time Against Chestnut Hill: 0-1
The Last Time They Met: These two squads last faced each other on Dec. 15, 2018 as the Chestnut Hill took a 69-63 victory over the Owls. 
Allie Smith '19 broke a career-high in points for the second straight game picking up 15 points, while shooting 50% from the field and collecting five rebounds. Kiana Steinauer collected her ninth double-double of the season putting up 16 points and 13 rebounds along with game-high five steals.

Last Time Out
  • The Owls fell to Le Moyne, 77-51 on Dec. 7 at Ted Grant Court in Syracuse, N.Y.
  • Amani Boston notched 14 points and added three rebounds shooting 4-for-5 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc.
  • Redshirt freshman Alexa Kellnertallied 12 points and three rebounds. 
  • Redshirt junior Jessica Fressletallied nine points with two steals and shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the free throw line.

Team Notes
  • The Owls are third in the NE10 in steals per game with an average of 11.5.
  • Southern Connecticut is fifth in the conference in three-pointers made with 63 on the season.
  • The team is fourth in assists per game average with 10.6.

Player Notes
  • Kiana Steinauer is now up 1,065 career points, ranking 18th all-time in program history.
  • Steinauer's 50 rebounds this season puts her seven away from breaking the 1,000 mark in rebounds. She previously broke 1,000 points in the Owls game against Bridgeport on Nov. 9.
  • With four steals against New York Tech on Nov. 20, Imani Wheeler hit the 150 career steals marker. Her 32 steals this season put her at 168 career steals. She broke a career-high in the Owls game against AIC on Nov. 26 with eight.
  • Alexa Kellner's five steals against New Haven was a career-high. Her previous career-high was on Nov. 9 against Bridgeport when she had two.
 
The Owls in the NE10
  • Imani Wheeler is first in the conference in steals per game with 4.0. She is also first in total steals with 32, which is just two ahead of Adelphi's Katie Murphy who has 30. 
  • Kiana Steinauer is tied for fifth in the conference in steals with 17.
