Women's Lacrosse Falls To No. 1 Le Moyne

SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Southern Connecticut State University women's lacrosse team fell to No. 1 Le Moyne College 17-3 at Ted Grant Field. The Owls fall to 2-12 overall and 1-9 in the Northeast 10, while the Dolphins improve to 12-0 overall and 8-0 in the Northeast 10.
 
Karlie Rowe (Niantic, Conn.), Hailey Gordon (Niantic, Conn.) and Stephanie Seymour (North Branford, Conn.) each scored a goal for the Owls. Goalkeeper Laura Morton (Somers, Conn.) tallied 11 saves on 28 shots faced through 60 minutes of play. 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The Dolphins shut out the Owls in the first half and scored 13 to give themselves a comfortable lead.
  • The Owls found the back of the net in the second half off a goal from freshman Karlie Rowe.
  • Southern scored two more goals in the last ten minutes of play from Hailey Gordon and Stephanie Seymour to bring the score to 17-3.
 
FACTS
  • With her 11 saves against Le Moyne, Laura Morton has registered her eighth game with 10-plus saves in 14 games this year. 
  • Hailey Gordon tallied her first goal in four games with her second half goal against Le Moyne.
 
UP NEXT
The Owls will host Southern New Hampshire on April 13, at Jess Dow Field, with the game to start at 1 p.m.
