The Southern Connecticut State University baseball team will resume Northeast 10 Conference play when it travels to Syracuse, N.Y. to face Le Moyne in a three-game series on Apr. 13-14. The Owls and Dolphins will meet on Saturday, Apr. 13 for a doubleheader at 12 p.m. followed by a single game on Sunday, Apr. 14. The Owls enter the weekend with a record of 12-20 overall including a 3-9 record in conference play while Le Moyne stands at 14-17 overall and 5-6 in the NE10.

ALL-TIME AGAINST LE MOYNE
  • Le Moyne and Southern Connecticut have faced each other 22 times since the 2012 season with the Owls owning an 8-14 record against the Dolphins, all-time.
  • Le Moyne swept the season series in 2018, winning all three games in New Haven, Conn.
  • The last time Southern traveled to Syracuse, the Owls took two-of-three games for the weekend in 2017, including a doubleheader sweep on the second day of the trip.
  • The Owls are 4-6 in 10 games against Le Moyne in Syracuse, all-time.

SCOUTING THE DOLPHINS
  • Le Moyne is 14-17 overall and 5-6 in the NE10, with a record of 2-3 in the Southwest Division for fifth place.
  • Le Moyne is 6-1 in the month of April, and 4-1 for the month against the NE10, including wins against nationally-ranked Southern New Hampshire and Saint Rose in their last two meetings.
  • The Dolphins are coming off a 4-3 win against the Golden Knights in their home opener on Wednesday, Apr. 10.
  • Senior Andrew Taft leads the Dolphins' offense as he enters the weekend with a .313 average (36-115) with nine home runs, 30 RBI and 25 runs scored.
  • Justin Tuley is hitting .308 (28-91) with 24 RBI while Nick Nevins checks-in with a .304 average (35-115) with four home runs, 24 RBI and 23 runs scored.

THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
  • Southern is coming off an 8-7 loss at home to Post on Thursday, Apr. 11. The Owls trailed by as many as five runs, 8-3, before mounting a comeback that ended with the tying run on third base.
  • Nick Lamberti was 2-for-5 with two RBI while Connor Redahan and Mac Finnegan also drove in two runs on the day. 
  • Tyler Criscuolo, Jim Palmer and Cam O'Toole all scored twice for the Owls while O'Toole also collected two hits and drawing two walks.

THE STREAKERS
  • With a single against Post on Thursday, Criscuolo extended his hitting streak to 11 games – the longest active streak on the roster – while he has also reached base safely in every game this season.
  • Criscuolo now has nine hits and seven walks in his last seven games since returning from injury while also driving in nine runs.
  • Mike DeMartino has now reached base safely in 13-straight games.
  • Lamberti has now hit safely in five-straight games and is now tied with Redahan with a team-high 39 hits for the year.
  • Through Thursday's game, Redahan has now hit safely in four-straight games and has driven in five runs over his last six games played.
 
THE LEADERS
  • Lamberti checks in with a team-leading .317 average (39-123) with nine doubles, two home runs, 24 RBI and 21 runs scored. He's also accumulated 14 walks, 11 stolen bases and boasts a .455 slugging percentage with a .408 on-base percentage.
  • Redahan is hitting .315 (39-124) with 20 RBI, 23 runs scored and 13 doubles as well as a .460 slugging percentage and a .392 on-base percentage.
  • Palmer is currently hitting .306 (38-124) with 24 RBI and 23 runs scored as wlel as 12 walks and 12 stolen bases.
  • O'Toole is hitting at a .313 (25-80) clip with a .441 on-base percentage. He's piled up 14 walks with 13 RBI and 18 runs scored.
  • Criscuolo checks-in with a .410 average (25-61) with three home runs and 22 RBI as well as a .672 slugging percentage and a .500 on-base percentage in 15 games played. Criscuolo returned to action on Friday, Apr. 5 after missing the previous 15 games to injury.
  • DeMartino is hitting .294 (35-119) with 20 RBI, 14 runs scored and 13 doubles while also working 13 walks.
  • Mac Finnegan leads the team with 25 doubles while also scored 22 runs.
  • Anthony Zambito currently leads the team in runs scored (28), walks (25) and stolen bases (26) while also carrying a .405 on-base percentage.
  • Nolan Cloutier is hitting .270 (31-115) with 10 doubles, 15 RBI and 26 runs scored.
  • On the mound, Brandon White is 3-0 with a team-leading 3.75with 25 strikeouts in 36 innings pitched.
  • Nate Carney is 1-6 with a 4.62 ERA with a team-high 48 2/3 innings pitched. Three of Carney's six losses have come in one-run games while he's allowed two-or-fewer earned runs in five of his last six starts.
  • Ronnie Rossomando is 1-3 with a 6.28 ERA while leading the Owls with 41 strikeouts in 44 1/3 innings pitched.
 
UP NEXT
Following its weekend series against Le Moyne, the Owls will kick-off a 10-game home stand when they host New Haven on Tuesday, Apr. 16 at 3:30 p.m. Southern will then host American International College for a single game on Friday, Apr. 19 at 3:30 p.m. and a doubleheader at 12 Noon on Saturday, Apr. 20.
