The Southern Connecticut State University men's soccer team will host nationally-ranked No. 1 Adelphi on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in a Northeast 10 Conference matchup at Jess Dow Field.

THE OWLS' LAST TIME OUT
  • The Owls are riding high after a 2-0 NE10 win against Stonehill at home on Saturday, Sept. 28.
  • Devante Teixeira and Francisco Roldan both scored for the Owls while Andrey Carvalho stopped both of the Skyhawks' shots-on-goals for the shutout victory, the first of his career.

ALL-TIME AGAINST ADELPHI
  • Tuesday's matchup against the Panthers is the 14th meeting all-time between the two teams.
  • Southern is 4-8-1 all-time against the Panthers and 0-5-1 in its last six meetings against Adelphi.

NOTES
  • Teixeira's goal against Stonehill was his second of the season and first since the Owls defeated NYIT on Sept. 11, 2019.
  • For the year, Teixeira now has two goals and four assists for eight points through seven games.
  • Over the last four years, Southern is 6-1 in games in which Teixeira has scored a goal.
  • Haba's assist was his first of the season and the second of his career, with his last point coming against Saint Michael's on Oct. 3, 2018.
  • Haba also became the 10th Owls player to register a point in Southern's first seven games.
  • Roldan now leads the Owls with three goals overall, including a team-best two goals against NE10 opponents.
  • Against Stonehill, Carvalho was seemingly untested for most of the game, but picks up his first career victory and shutout with two saves against the Skyhawks.
  • Juan Avila is third among the Owls' point leaders with two goals and one assist for five points.
  • Daniel Utgaard gives the Owls four players with multiple goals as he has found the back of the net twice this season.
 
UP NEXT
Southern's game against Adelphi is its only contest of the week as the Owls will enjoy a bye week this weekend. The Owls return to action next week when they travel to West Haven, Conn. to take on UNH on Wednesday, Oct. 9.
