• Mercy's Manuel Achondo scored twice while Gaston Rosenblum and Alejandro Alvarez had two assists apiece.
• For the Owls, Blaise Haba scored on an assist from Zak Wright for Southern's lone goal of the contest, and its first of the season.Â
CAPTAINS ANNOUNCED
Seniors Devante Teixeira and Noah Rattet have been selected by the Owls' coaching staff and student-athletes as captains for the 2019 season.
WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
• The Owls were tabbed to finish fifth in the 2019 Northeast 10 Conference Coaches Preseason Poll, as announced by the NE10 on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019.
• Teixeira and Cererols posted identical stat lines a year ago, both tallying four goals and five assists for 13 points.Â
• Francisco Roldan scored three goals and added one assist while Utgaard scored twice and assisted on another and Colodrero found the back of the net two times.Â
• In goal, Bailey Bassett returns after starting 12 of the Owls' 18 games a year ago and posting a 6-4 record with a 1.11 goals-against average with four shutouts.
