The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will travel to Waltham, Mass. to play the Bentley University Falcons on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2020 at the Dana Athletic Center. Bentley is currently ranked No. 17 in the NABC Coaches Poll, No. 18 on the D2SIDA Poll, and tied for No. 2 in the D2SIDA East Regional Poll.

All-Time Against Adelphi University: 12-24
The Last Time They Met: Last season, the Owls defeated the No. 24 ranked Falcons, 100-88, at James Moore Field House. Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) scored a career-high 33 points while shooting 10-17 from the field and 7-13 from beyond the arc. Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) also scored a career-high, recording 29 points and a game-high eight assists while going 12-12 from the free throw line. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) scored 22 points and had a career-high four steals. Southern as also a perfect 24-for-24 from the free throw line, the most free throws made in a game without a miss in program history. Overall, Southern has won seven consecutive games against Bentley, dating back to the 2012-13 season.

Last Time Out
  • Southern lost to Adelphi University, 90-80, at James Moore Field House. Adelphi is currently ranked No. 6 in the most recent D2SIDA East Regional Poll.
  • Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc) finished with 18 points and a career- and game-high 19 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season.
  • Junior Khalil Richard (Baltimore, Md.) finished with a season-high 20 points and junior Greg Jones (Bronx. N.Y.) finished with 14 points and seven rebounds
 
Player Notes
  • Adams II is averaging 20.4 points per game and 11.6 rebounds per game in his last five games dating back to Dec. 4 against University of New Haven.
  • Adams II recorded his third consecutive double-double against Adelphi and his fourth in the last five games. It was also his 10th career double-double and seventh of the season.
  • Adams II set a new career-high with his 19 rebounds against Adelphi. His previous career-high was 13, set on March 12, 2017 against Saint Rose. 
  • Adams II's 19 rebounds against Adelphi was tied for the 10th most in a Division II game this season.
  • Adams II's 19 rebounds against Adelphi  were the most by a Southern player since at least the 2007-08 season, and he became the first Southern player to grab at least 18 rebounds in a game since Austin Carter recorded 18 rebounds against Saint Anselm on Jan. 16, 2016. 
  • Adams II's 10 offensive rebounds against Adelphi set a new career-high. His previous career-high was eight against Saint Anselm on Jan. 9, 2018. 
  • Adams II's 10 offensive rebounds against Adelphi were also the most by a Southern player since at least the 2007-2008 season.
  • Seaforth has scored at least 15 points in eight of his 10 games played this season. 
  • Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) is 10-17 (58.8 percent) from three-point range since Nov. 26, a span of five games.
  • Jones has recorded multiple blocks in six games this season.
  • Adams II was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for the eighth week of the season for his performance against Pace. It is his fourth overall recognition.

  • This is the Owls' first road game since Dec. 10 against The College of Saint Rose. 
  • The Owls are tied for 15th nationally in free throw percentage at 79 percent. 
  • Southern leads the NE10 in rebounds per game (41.3) and offensive rebounds per game (12.6).
