The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will head to Waltham, Mass. to face Bentley in a cross-division matchup with the Falcons on Saturday, Jan. 11 at 1:30 p.m. The Falcons are coming off a dominant 70-50 win over Saint Michael's on Wednesday, Jan. 8 to remain undefeated in NE10 play.

All-Time Against Bentley: 11-29
The Last Time They Met: The Owls dropped a 69-56 decision to No. 20 nationally-ranked Bentley on Jan. 26, 2019 at Moore Field House. 
Imani Wheeler tallied 12 points and team-high six assists, while Allie Smith had 12 points and shot 66% from beyond the arc. Amanda Pfohl collected 12 points shooting 44 percent from three-point territory and Kiana Steinauer notched 10 boards, including her 800th career rebound.

Last Time Out
  • The Owls fell to No. 12 nationally-ranked Adelphi, 77-54 at Moore Field House on Jan. 8.
  • Senior Imani Wheeler  who collected 11 points, nine assists and three steals through all 40 minutes on the floor.
  • Redshirt junior Jessica Fressle also provided offense for Southern, collecting a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
  • Senior Aaliyah Walker collected nine points and five rebounds. 
 
Team Notes
  • SCSU is third in the NE10 in steals per game with an average of 9.4.
  • Southern Connecticut is second in the conference in three-pointers made with 116 on the season.
  • The Owls average the second least number of turnovers per game in the conference and are ranked 30th in NCAA DII women's basketball with 13.7 per game.
  • The team is also tied for 34th in the nation in turnover margin with a margin of 4.71 (192-258).

Player Notes
  • Ednaija Lassiter has registered double-digit points in four of her last six games. 
  • After only registering two three-pointers in her first five games, Lassiter has combined for 14 three-pointers and has a 43.8% shooting percentage from beyond the arc in her last five games.
  • Jessica Fressle has registered double-digit points in five of her last six games including three straight games with 20-plus points.​​​​​
  • Fressle is also ranked 39th in NCAA DII with free throw percentage of 87.
 
The Owls in the NE10
  • Imani Wheeler is tied for first in the conference in steals per game with 3.2 and first in total steals with 45.
  • Jessica Fressle is seventh in total points with 199 and ninth in points per game with 14.2.
  • Fressle is also sixth in free throws, going 47-for-54 on the season and is sixth in free throw percentage of 87.
  • Three Owls rank in the top ten in minutes per game as Imani Wheeler averages a conference-high 37.6 minutes per game, while Alexa Kellner is eighth and averages 33.2 minutes per game and Jessica Fressle is 10th and averages 33.2.
  • Wheeler has seen the most minutes in the conference clocking a total of 527 minutes on the floor.

Season Notes
  • Kiana Steinauer is now up 1,065 career points, ranking 18th all-time in program history.
  • Steinauer's 50 rebounds this season puts her seven away from breaking the 1,000 mark in rebounds. She previously broke 1,000 points in the Owls game against Bridgeport on Nov. 9.
  • With four steals against New York Tech on Nov. 20, Imani Wheeler hit the 150 career steals marker. Her 39 steals this season put her at 175 career steals. She broke a career-high in the Owls game against AIC on Nov. 26 with eight.
  • Alexa Kellner's five steals against New Haven was a career-high. Her previous career-high was on Nov. 9 against Bridgeport when she had two.
  • Aaliyah Walker notched a career-high 12 rebounds against Saint Rose on Dec. 11. Her previous career-high was set on Nov. 25, 2018 when she had eight rebounds against Queens College.
  • Ednaija Lassiter collected her first career double-double as an Owl with 16 points and 14 rebounds against Chestnut Hill on Dec. 14, both of which were career-highs. Both of her career-highs were set against Saint Rose on Dec. 10 when she collected 10 points and eight rebounds.
  • Seven rebounds against Chestnut Hill are a career-high for Imani Wheeler. Her previous career-high was set on Dec. 4, 2018 against American International and was tied on three occasions during the 2018-19 season.
  • Imani Wheeler's 11 assists against Saint Thomas Aquinas are a career-high. Her previous career-high was nine assists on Nov. 10, 2018 against Post.
