The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team returns to James Moore Field House for a two-game home stand against two members of the Northeast Division; the Southern New Hampshire University Penmen on Tuesday, Jan. 14 and the Saint Michael's Purple Knights on Saturday, Jan. 18.

All-Time Against Southern New Hampshire University: 21-52
The Last Time They Met: Last season, the Penmen defeated the Owls, 88-86, on Jan. 12 in double-overtime in Manchester, N.H. Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) led Southern in scoring with 24 points, while Ulyen Coleman (Brockton, Mass.) scored 21 points and Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) registered 15 points. Luke Beesley (Champaign, Ill.)tallied 12 rebounds and seven points. 

Last Time Out
  • Southern lost to No. 17/18 Bentley University, 84-65, at the Dana Center. Bentley was also ranked No. 2 in the D2SIDA East Regional Poll at the time.
  • Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) finished with game-highs in points with 21 and rebounds with eight. 
  • Khalil Richard (Baltimore, Md.) finished with 14 points and a game-high seven assists, and Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) finished with 14 points and three steals.
 
Player Notes
  • Adams II recorded his third game this season with at least 20 points scored against Bentley. He had two such games in the previous three seasons combined.
  • Adams II is averaging 20.5 points per game and 11 rebounds per game in his last six games dating back to Dec. 4 against University of New Haven, while also recording four double-doubles in those six games.
  • C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.)has scored at least 15 points in eight of his 12 games played this season. 
  • Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) is 11-20 (55 percent) from three-point range since Nov. 26, a span of eight games.
  • Richard is averaging 13.25 points per game and shooting 40.3 percent from the field over his last four games.
  • Richard's seven assists against Bentley were a season-high by a Southern player this season.

  • Adams II was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for the ninth week of the season for his performances against regionally-ranked Adelphi and No. 17/18 Bentley. It is his fifth overall recognition.

  • Southern tied a season-high with 10 steals against Bentley, also done on Nov. 10 against Goldey-Beacom. 
  • The Owls forced 19 turnovers against Bentley, their second most in a season (21 turnovers forced on Nov. 10 against Goldey-Beacom). 
  • The Owls are tied for 31st nationally in free throw percentage at 77.2 percent. 
  • Southern is fourth in the NE10 in rebounds per game (39.8) and second in offensive rebounds per game (12.2).

  • Adams II is second in double-doubles with seven.
  • Adams II ranks second in offensive rebounds per game (4.2) and third in rebounds per game (9.4). 
  • Jones is tied for fourth in blocks per game with 1.4, recording 17 total in 12 games. 
  • Bennett is fifth among freshmen in three-point field goal percentage at 43.3. 
  • Seaforth ranks third in steals per game (1.9).
