All-Time Against Saint Michael's College: 16-19
The Last Time They Met: Last season, Southern narrowly defeated the Purple Knights, 71-68, in Colchester, Vt. Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) poured in a game-high 28 points on 11-18 shooting and went 6-11 from beyond the arc. Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) recorded a double-double with 15 points and a game-high 10 assists, while C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) also scored 15 points. Overall, Southern has won five consecutive games against Saint Michael's dating back to the 2015-16 season.

Last Time Out
  • Khalil Richard (Baltimore, Md.) knocked down the game-winning three-pointer with eight second remaining to lead Southern Connecticut past Southern New Hampshire, 77-76. 
  • Richard scored 20 points on 8-11 shooting, while Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) scored 16 points on 6-10 shooting and pulled down eight rebounds. 
  • Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) scored 13 points on 6-11 shooting, while Levar Allen (Richmond, Va.) scored 12 points on 6-10 shooting.
Player Notes
  • Since Dec. 10, Richard is averaging 16.6 points per game and shooting 46 percent from the field, a span on of five games, and has scored 20 points in two of three games this month.
  • Richard tied a season-high in points scored against Southern New Hampshire with 20, done two other times this year (Nov. 13 against Caldwell and Jan. 8 against Adelphi). 
  • Richard has scored in double figures in nine of his last 11 games played, dating back to Nov. 13 against Caldwell. 
  • Adams II recorded his third game this season with at least 20 points scored against Bentley. He had two such games in the previous three seasons combined.
  • Adams II has scored at least 15 points in a game in seven consecutive games dating back to Dec. 4 against New Haven, and is averaging 19.9 points and 10.5 rebounds per game during that time.
  • Adams II has recorded four double-doubles in his past seven games.
  • Bennett set a new career-high with eight assists against Southern New Hampshire. His eight assists were also the most a Southern player has had in a game this season and the most by a Southern freshmen since Tyler Douglas recorded eight against Merrimack College on Jan. 3, 2018. 
  • Bennett is 11-21 (52.3 percent) from three-point range since Nov. 26, a span of nine games.
  • Allen recorded career-highs in points scored with 12 and field goals made with six against Southern New Hampshire. 
  • Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) registered a career-high two blocked shots against Southern New Hampshire, including a game-saving block on a potential go-ahead layup at the buzzer.
  • Seaforth has scored at least 15 points in eight of his 13 games played this season. 
  • Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) is shooting 50 percent from the field (23-46) over his last five games, while averaging 11.8 points. He has also registered multiple blocks in two of his last five games and multiple steals in three of his last five games.
  • Adams II was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for the ninth week of the season for his performances against regionally-ranked Adelphi and No. 17/18 Bentley. It is his fifth overall recognition. 
 
Team Notes
  • The Owls' defense forced 20 turnovers against Southern New Hampshire, their second most turnovers forced in a game this season (21 against Goldey-Beacom on Nov. 10.)
  • Over the last two games, Southern has forced 39 turnovers, as they forced 19 against nationally-ranked Bentley University on Jan. 11. Their 39 turnovers forced is their most over a two-game span since Jan. 26-Jan. 30, 2016 against Assumption College and Bentley, when the Owls forced a combined 40 turnovers.
  • The Owls are tied for 21st nationally in free throw percentage at 78 percent. 
  • Southern is fifth in the NE10 in rebounds per game (38.8) and second in offensive rebounds per game (11.9).

  • Jones is third in blocks per game with 1.4, recording 17 total in 12 games. 
  • Seaforth ranks third in steals per game (2.0).
