The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will return to James Moore Field House to start a two game home stand, starting with Stonehill College on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 3:30 p.m. before playing Assumption College on Tuesday, Jan. 28.

All-Time Against Stonehill College: 27-37
The Last Time They Met: In the first round of the 2019 NE10 TournamentSouthern defeated Stonehill, 80-75, at James Moore Field House. Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) led the Owls with 37 points, the most for a Southern player in an NE10 tournament game in program history. Joey Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) gave the Owls a 78-75 lead with a three-pointer with 51 seconds remaining. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) added 16 points of his own. 
 
Last Time Out
  • Southern defeated Franklin Pierce, 75-66, at in Rindge, N.H. on Wednesday, Jan. 22.
  • Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) recorded his first career double-double with game highs in points, with 25, and rebounds, with 15.
  • Redshirt junior Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) also registered a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while junior Khalil Richard (Baltimore, Md.) scored 15 points on 7-15 shooting.
  • Freshman Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) scored eight points, pulled down 11 rebounds, and had eight assists. 
 
Player Notes
  • Jones recorded career-highs in points (25), rebounds (15), offensive rebounds (eight), field goals made (nine), and free throws made (seven) against Franklin Pierce.
  • Jones became the first Southern player to record at least 25 points and 15 rebounds in a game since Desmond Williams did so on Feb. 6, 2016 against Adelphi. 
  • Jones' 25 points scored were tied for the most points scored by a Southern player this season. Taurus Adams II had 25 against New Haven on Dec. 4 and Seaforth had 25 against Goldey-Beacom on Nov. 10. 
  • Jones is shooting 51.4 percent from the field (36-70) over his last seven games, while averaging 13.4 points. 
  • Boissard recorded his second career double-double, and his since first having 10 points and 12 rebounds against Queens on Nov. 20. 
  • Richard has scored in double figures in 11 of his last 13 games played, dating back to Nov. 13 against Caldwell. 
  • Since Dec. 10 against Saint Rose, Richard is averaging 15.4 points per game and shooting 46.1 percent from the field, a span of seven games.
  • Richard has three 20-point games this month, and four on the season, and is shooting 47.3 percent from the field and 35.5 percent from three-point range in January.
  • Adams II is averaging 19.1 points per game and 10.6 rebounds per game in his last eight games played, dating back to Dec. 4 against University of New Haven, while also recording five double-doubles in those eight games.
  • Adams II recorded his eighth double-double of the season against Saint Michael's and his 11th of his career.
  • Bennett is 11-22 (47.3 percent) from three-point range since Nov. 26, a span of 11 games.
  • Seaforth has scored at least 15 points in eight of his 13 games played this season. 
  • Adams II and Richard were named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for the 10th week of the season for their performances against Southern New Hampshire and Saint Michael's. 
 
Team Notes
  • Southern handed Franklin Pierce their first home loss of the season on Wednesday, Jan. 22. 
  • The Owls have won three consecutive games for the second time this season, and has won seven of their last nine games dating back to Dec. 4. 
  • Southern grabbed a season-high 53 rebounds against Franklin Pierce, their most rebounds in a game since pulling down 58 rebounds on Feb. 10, 2016 against American International.
  • Southern had two players record double-doubles in a game for the second time this season against Franklin Pierce, as it also happened on Nov. 20 against Queens. Adams II had 17 points and 11 rebounds and Boissard had 10 points and 12 rebounds in that game.
  • The last time Southern had at least three players record 10 rebounds in a game was also against Queens on Nov. 20, as Penn had 10 rebounds as well. 
  • Before this season, the last time Southern had at least three players record at least 10 rebounds in a game was on Nov. 12, 2016 against Holy Family, when Adams II, Jerry Luckett, Jr., and Austin Carter all had double-digit rebounds. 
  • The Owls are 25th nationally in free throw percentage at 77.4 percent. 
  • Southern is second in the NE10 in rebounds per game (39.9) and first in offensive rebounds per game (12.3). 
  • Defensively, the Owls are holding opponents to 42.6 percent shooting (fourth lowest in the conference) and 33.2 percent from beyond the arc (third lowest in the conference), allowing 72.3 points per game (fifth lowest in the conference).

  • Adams II is tied for second in double-doubles with eight, second in offensive rebounds per game with 4.2, and third in rebounds per game with 9.4. 
  • Seaforth ranks third in steals per game (2.0). 
  • Jones is fifth in blocks per game with 1.3, recording 18 total in 14 games. 
  • Jones ranks seventh in the NE10 in free throw percentage at 85.7, among players that have made at least two free throws per game and played in 60 percent of their team's games.
