The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will face cross-divisional opponent Stonehill College on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Moore Field House.
 
Matchup Preview
Both squads are coming off tough losses as Southern fell to Franklin Pierce 79-56 on Jan. 22, while the Skyhawks fell to Pace, 73-70. The matchup will feature some key conference players from both squads. As a team, rhe Skyhawks are fifth in the conference in three-point shooting at 32%, they also shoot a consistent 40% from the field, while the Owls are third in steals per game averaging 9.2 and have the second least number of turnovers per game in the conference at 13.4. 
  • Imani Wheeler has continued to be a consistent presence for the Owls on the court this season. In her last six games alone, shes averaging 16.3 points per game, 5.5 assists per game and 2.83 steals per game, while shooting 47% from three-point territory and 42% from the field. 
  • Isabella Santoro will be a Skyhawk to keep an eye on as she's averaging 13 points per game and shoots a consistent 40.9% from the field averages 26.5 minutes per game, while also averaging 5.4 rebounds per game.

All-Time Against Stonehill: 13-17
The Last Time They Met: The Owls defeated Stonehill College, 73-69 at Merkert Gymnasium in North Easton, Mass. 
Amanda Pfohl led the Owls with 24 points, tying a career-best, while shooting 71% from beyond the arc and 64% from the field. She added two assists and two steals. Kiana Steinauer broke an SCSU record in steals with 10. In addition, she notched 16 points, a team-leading eight rebounds and four blocks. Allie Smith collected 17 points and a block. As a team, the Owls shot 52.9% from beyond the arc and 44.8% from the field.

  • The Owls fell to Franklin Pierce, 79-56 on Jan. 22 in Rindge, N.H.
  • Redshirt freshman Alexa Kellner was SCSU's offensive leader as she registered a career-high 22 points and added five rebounds.
