The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will play their final two Northeast crossover games of the season, as they host Assumption College on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020 before traveling to Saint Anselm on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2020.

All-Time Against Assumption College: 20-30
The Last Time They Met: Southern defeated Assumption, 73-63, last season in Worcester, Mass. Isaiah McLeod (Cambridge, Mass.) scored a team-high 23 points on 8-16 shooting, while Kealen Ives (Providence, R.I.) also scored 20 points and dished out seven assists. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) chipped in 17 points pulled down seven rebounds. Overall, Southern has won seven consecutive games against the Greyhounds, dating back to the 2012-13 season.
 
All-Time Against Saint Anslem: 15-27
The Last Time They Met: Southern upset Saint Anselm, who was the No. 1 seed in the NE10 Tournament and ranked No. 18/13 nationally, 97 87 in Manchester, N.H. Joey Wallace (Rochester, N.Y.) had scored 19 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, while Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) also had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds . Ives and Seaforth delivered 25 points each.

  • Southern fell to Stonehill, 67-59, at James Moore Field House on Saturday, Jan. 25.
  • Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) scored 31 points, a new career-high, grabbed eight rebounds, and shot 12-20 from the field and 6-9 from three-point range
  • Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.) recorded a double-double with 11 points and a game-high 10 rebounds
Player Notes
  • Jones recorded career-highs in points (31), field goals made (12), and three-pointers made (six) against Stonehill. Jones previously set career highs in points and field goals made in Southern's last game on Jan. 25 against Franklin Piece, with 25 points and nine made field goals. 
  • Jones' 31 points were a new season-high for a Southern player. Jones also became the first Southern player since March 1 of last season to score at least 30 points in a game, when Ives scored 37 points against Stonehill in the first round of the NE10 Tournament. 
  • Jones' six three-pointers made tied a season-high for a Southern player this year, as Seaforth made six against Concordia on Nov. 23.
  • Since Dec. 10 against Saint Rose, Jones is averaging 15.6 points per game, 7.3 rebounds per game, and is shooting 55.1 percent from the field, a span of eight games.
  • Adams II recorded his ninth double-double of the season and his 12th of his career against Stonehill.
  • Adams II became the first Southern player to record at least nine double-doubles in season since Desmond Williams recorded 17 in the 2015-16 season.
  • Adams II is averaging 18.2 points per game and 10.5 rebounds per game since Dec. 4 against New Haven, a span of nine games, while also recording six double-doubles in those nine games.
  • Khalil Richard (Baltimore, Md.)has scored in double figures in 11 of his last 14 games played, dating back to Nov. 13 against Caldwell. 
  • Since Dec. 10 against Saint Rose, Richard is averaging 14.4 points per game and shooting 45.4 percent from the field, a span of eight games.
  • Richard has three 20-point games this month, and four on the season, and is shooting 46.3 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from three-point range in January.
  • Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) is 11-26 (42.3 percent) from three-point range since Nov. 26, a span of 12 games.
  • Seaforth has scored at least 15 points in eight of his 14 games played this season.  
  • Jones was named to the NE10 Weekly Honor Roll for the 11th week of the season for his performance against Franklin Pierce University and Stonehill College.

  • The Owls are 28th nationally in free throw percentage at 77.2 percent. 
  • Southern is second in the NE10 in rebounds per game (39.8) and first in offensive rebounds per game (12.5).
