The Southern Connecticut State University women's basketball team will finish out their final game of a four-game road trip on Tuesday, Feb. 11 in Pleasantville, N.Y. against Pace University. The Owls currently sit sixth in the Southwest, while the Setters sit third in the division. Both squads are coming off conference wins as the Owls defeated American International 49-34 on Feb. 8, while Pace defeated Saint Rose 75-45. Southern Connecticut holds a 7-6 record against Pace on the road and will look to make it two-straight conference victories when they meet the Setters on Tuesday evening in New York.

All-Time Against Pace: 25-20
The Last Time They Met: SCSU will face AIC for the second time this season. In their first go-around, the Owls fell to Pace University, 72-51 on Jan. 4, 2020 at Moore Field House. Senior 
Imani Wheeler was behind the Owls' offense as she registered a team-high 17 points and chipped in four assists, three rebounds, two steals and a block, shooting 3-for-6 from three-point range.
 
All-Time Against Le Moyne: 28-15
The Last Time They Met: SCSU will face the Dolphins for the second time this season. In their first meeting of the season on Dec. 7, 2019, the Owls fell to Le Moyne College, 77-51 in Syracuse, N.Y. First-year players 
Amani Boston and Alexa Kellner were the offensive leaders for Southern. Boston notched 14 points and added three rebounds shooting 4-for-5 from the field and 3-for-4 from beyond the arc, while Kellner tallied 12 points and three rebounds.

Last Time Out
  • The Owls defeated American International College, 49-34 in Springfield, Mass.
  • This was the first time in five years that Southern Connecticut defeated AIC.
  • Southern held AIC to four single-digit scoring quarters, making it the first time in program history, and since women's basketball switched from halves to quarters in 2015-16, that the Owls have done so.
  • Redshirt junior Jessica Fressle registered a game-high 22 points, grabbed 11 boards and recorded two blocks.
  • Senior Imani Wheeler tallied 11 points, a game-high seven assists, three steals and three rebounds.
     
Team Notes
  • SCSU is third in the NE10 in steals per game with an average of 9.0.
  • Southern Connecticut is third in the conference in three-pointers made with 181.
  • The Owls average the second least number of turnovers per game in the conference and are ranked 31st in NCAA DII women's basketball with 13.7 per game.
  • The team is also 35th in the nation in turnover margin with a margin of 4.22 (314-411).
 
Player Notes
  • Imani Wheeler has recorded double-digit points in 11-straight games, as she scored 11 against AIC. She has notched double-digit points in all but four games this season. The last player to score double-digit points in 11-straight games was Taylor McLaughlin during 2016-2017 season. McLaughlin recorded 13-straight games of double-digit points from Nov. 30, 2016 to Jan. 21, 2017.
  • Wheeler has tallied three-or-more steals in six of her last seven games played.
  • Jessica Fressle recorded her second double-double of the season and fourth of her career with 22 points and 11 rebounds against American International. Her first double-double came against nationally-ranked Adelphi when she had 10 points and 10 rebounds on Jan. 8, 2020.
  • It was the seventh game this season that Fressle has scored 20-or-more points.
 
 
The Owls in the NE10
  • Imani Wheeler is first in the conference in steals per game (3.2) and in total steals (73).
  • Wheeler is 10th in the conference in total points with 316, while Jessica Fressle is 12th with 307. Fressle is also 13th in points per game with 14.0, while Wheeler is 14th with 13.7.
  • Fressle is fourth in free throws, going 76-for-92 on the season and is sixth in free throw percentage of 82.6.
  • Three Owls rank in the top ten in minutes per game as Imani Wheeler averages a conference-high 37.5 minutes per game, while Alexa Kellner is eighth and averages 33.6 minutes and Aaliyah Walker is ninth averaging 33.1.
  • Wheeler has seen the most minutes in the conference clocking a total of 862 minutes on the floor this season.

The Owls in NCAA Division II
  • Imani Wheeler is sixth in NCAA DII in steals with 73 and eighth in steals per game (3.2). She is the only player in the Northeast 10 to break the top ten in both categories.

Second-Half Season Notes
  • Paula Tattari registered a career-high 10 points. Her previous career-high of six points was set last game against SNHU on Jan. 14.
  • Alexa Kellner recorded a career-high five assists against Saint Michael's. Her previous career-high was four against Dec. 14.
  • Alexa Kellner topped a career-high in points with 22 against Franklin Pierce. Her previous career-high was set against Bentley on Jan. 11 when she had 15.
  • Five steals are a career-high for Jessica Fressle. Her previous career-high came during the 2018-19 against Le Moyne on Nov. 17, 2018 when she recorded four.
  • Imani Wheeler tallied a career-high 26 points against Assumption. Her previous career-high was on Dec. 30, 2018 against Dominican when she had 23 points.
  • Jessica Fressle tallied a career-high 28 points against Saint Anselm. Her previous career-high was set earlier this year against New York Tech on Nov. 20, 2019 when she had 24.
  • Fressle's two blocks are also a career high. She previous notched one block against Stonehill on Jan. 25.
  • Blake Greer tallied a career-high nine boards against Jefferson, a feat she previously set back on Nov. 10, 2019, when she had six against Bloomfield.
  • Alexa Kellner's three blocks against Jefferson are a career-high for the redshirt freshman. Her previous career-high was two, set on Nov. 13, 2019 against Queens and has tied that high on two other occasions this season before breaking it against Jefferson.
