The Southern Connecticut State University men's basketball team will wrap up their final home stand of the season with games against University of New Haven on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020 and The College of Saint Rose on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2020. Southern will also celebrate Senior Day on Saturday.
 
The Owls currently sit in fourth place in the Southwest Division of the NE10 with a record of 8-8, but are tied in the loss column with third place New Haven, who have a record of 9-8. Pace sits in fifth place, also with a record of 8-8, but Southern currently holds the tie-breaker over the Setters by virtue of their 2-0 season record against them. Adelphi sits in second place with a record of 11-5, while Southern has a three game lead over American International College, who sit in sixth place with a 5-11 conference record with four games remaining. The top five teams in each division play in the conference tournament, with the top three teams in each division automatically earning a spot in the quarterfinals and the top two teams hosting a quarterfinals game. With a win against New Haven, or an AIC loss against first place Le Moyne, Southern will clinch a spot in the NE10 Tournament.

All-Time Against New Haven: 43-47
The Last Time They Met: Southern defeated New Haven on the road, 74-71, on Dec. 4, 2019. Taurus Adams II (Milwaukee, Wisc.)had a team-high 25 points and 11 rebounds, while shooting 9-for-14 from the field. C.J. Seaforth (Hamden, Conn.) had 18 points and made four three-pointers, while Greg Jones (Bronx, N.Y.) had 12 points and nine rebounds, Khalil Richard (Baltimore, Md.) chipped in with 10 points, and freshman Lyron Bennett (Boston, Mass.) finished with nine points and 10 rebounds.

All-Time Against Saint Rose: 19-23
The Last Time They Met: Southern won against Saint Rose, 78-65, on the road on Dec. 10, 2019. Adams II finished with a double-double, scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds. Seaforth finished with 18 points, shooting 7-for-11 and knocked down four three-pointers. Richard recorded 17 points and five rebounds.

  • Southern fell to Le Moyne College, 73-60, on Saturday, Feb. 15.
  • Jones recorded his fourth double-double of the season, as he scored a team-high 15 points and pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds. 
  • Isaiah Boissard (Walden, N.Y.) scored 11 points and Levar Allen (Richmond, Va.) chipped in with 10 points on 4-6 shooting.
